I enjoy many aspects gaming. I love to play games. I collect physical games, and have a lot of downloaded games. I enjoy game soundtracks, art, design and development. Until recently, I never put much thought into how the gaming industry effects the environment. I would rather not think about it, and just concentrate on the enjoyment of all aspects of gaming. But that would not be responsible thing to do.
One day, I came across an infographic that surprised me with the information it had over the significant impact the gaming industry has on the environment. After looking further into it found that not only production of physical games impact the environment, the energy required for game consoles, even when not being used have a big impact on the environment.
This blog for my Service and Action assignment will help me stay informed and inform others of how gaming effects the environment and what the industry is doing to improve the environmental impact of game production and energy consumption of game consoles.
